Sr. Staff Quality Automation Engineer / Architect

Description

  • The Sr. Staff Software Quality Cloud Automation Engineer/Architect on the engineering team will be is responsible for working to develop an automation framework to test IntelliCloud cloud platform and automation tools. We are looking for candidates who have a strong background and understanding of automation and cloud technologies, and As-a-Service delivery models. The candidate should have experience will all aspects of testing including integration, performance, availability in an automated fashion. This will be an 80% coding and 20% architect role. 


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Architects and develops automated tests and test frameworks for frontend and backend systems
  • Applies technical expertise and an understanding of business needs to design and implement quality solutions in the cloud.
  • Utilizes deep understanding of DevOps and software engineering best practices to influence design and implementation approaches and solutions.
  • Works in a cross-functional style, developing relationships with external teams and working across teams to achieve results.
  • Effectively communicates quality practices to both technical and leadership audiences through documentation, presentations, and verbal communications.  Coaches and mentors software engineers in quality techniques in a cloud development environment.  Able to act as quality lead for one or more projects.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates potential risk areas in software.

Qualifications


Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong code/scripting skills (Python, Java preferred)
  • Experience working in hybrid datacenter/cloud environments  Good working knowledge of web applications, data warehouses and RESTful API-based testing platforms
  • Experience working with complex network topologies and hardware
  • AWS Experience (more than simply EC2 instances). Google Cloud experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum) and tools (Jira) 
  • Configuration Management tools such as Ansible
  • Test and build systems such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Ant 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant job experience (Testing and Test Automation)
